Is there Parking?
There is a loading zone located on the near side of Campbell Avenue, a few meters south of the main entrance. Please feel free to use this zone for loading and unloading, for up to 30 minutes.

Otherwise, parking is limited to what is available on the streets around the hall. Unfortunately, the parking lot behind the hall is only for tenants of the housing complex. Please be careful not to park too close to intersections, including the crosswalk out front, because cars are occasionally ticketed and towed.
how do i pay for a rental?
Please mail cheques to FRCBC (Federation of Russian Canadians of BC) at 600 Campbell Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V6A 3K1, attn: Rental Manager; or drop by our office and pay in cash or by cheque. We can also accept e-transfers; please inquire for details.

Please note that all rentals require a separate $400.00 damage deposit, which will be held until the last day of your rental.
Do I need LIABILITY INSURANCE?
Yes. All renters require liability insurance from an insurance company of their choosing. The liability insurance must cover a minimum of 2 million dollars and renters must name The Federation of Russian Canadians as additional insured.

Please email a copy of the liability insurance to the Rental Manager before the first day of your rental. Please note, failure to acquire proper liability insurance may result in a cancellation of your rental.
Can I serve Alcohol?
Yes. We have a servery (bar space) in the main lobby which can be added to your rental for $55/day. The Downstairs Hall also has a commercial kitchen with a serving window that can be used as a servery.

You will need to acquire your own Special Event Permit (aka liquor license) and event liability insurance. Submit a copy of the permit and insurance to the Rental Manager and have a hard copy on hand when renting the Hall.

Please note, the Hall does not provide bar staff. Renters are required to have their own certified bar staff.
How do I get into and out of the hall?
Typically our onsite caretakers will provide you with access to the space. For long-term rentals or in special circumstances, keys will be provided to renters.
Can I visit the site before deciding to rent?
Yes. Site visits can be scheduled by appointment. Please email [email protected].
what is the cancellation policy?
To ensure your booking is secure, we require a 50% security deposit. If renters cancel their booking less than three months before the start of their rental, this deposit will not be returned.

what is the cleaning policy?
Please adhere to the cleaning checklist to keep our facilities affordable and accessible for all renters.  Cleaning supplies will be provided. Failure to keep our Hall clean and damage-free may result in your damage deposit being lost.

The Russian Hall strives to be an affordable venue for all individuals and organizations interested in carrying on the cooperative spirit of its founders. To achieve this we ask that every user assist us in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the building. Please leave the Hall as you found it.

Cleaning up can easily require an hour or two. Please remember to leave enough time to do everything before your rental ends.

Failing to meet cleaning expectations may result in nonapproval of future rentals. Any physical damage to the Hall or its property may result in the renter’s damage deposit being claimed.

IS there a curfew?
For the exceptional rental extending to 1:00 AM, curfew for all sound is MIDNIGHT. Please keep down noise levels after midnight, as the Hall is in a residential neighborhood.
Lighting and Sound Equipment?
The Hall has an LED lighting system on a DMX universe. A few basic presets can be accessed through the wall controllers. More fine-grained control can be achieved through an app (EchoAccess) or, for most control, a lighting board. We do not rent lighting boards so please provide your own. We ask that renters do not change the house hang unless agreed upon with the Rental Manager.

The Upstairs Hall has a PA system with two speakers (Martin W8VDQ) hung on either side of the stage, powered by two Dynacord amps (L1300FD-US and L3600FD-US), with an Allen and Heath Zed10-FX sound board as interface (located stage left). There are spots for four microphones (XLR) and an auxiliary input—but  no microphones are provided. The manual for the sound board is available on request.

The Hall does not rent out any equipment and does not have a Technical Director on site.
